Hi, I'm Nike — the heart behind The Hidden Portal.

I was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, where my love for beautiful, meaningful things began early. My mother was a vintage treasure hunter, and I naturally followed in her footsteps — cycling through style phases from Jimmy Choos to Birkenstocks (yes, both have their moment 😄).

What’s never changed is the way I hunt and gather — each piece I find is chosen with love, intention, and a sense of soul.

My connection to crystals started young, when my Mana (my grandma) gave me my very first fossil in Drumheller, Alberta. Since then, stones and minerals have been part of my daily life. I wear them intuitively — sometimes to match an outfit, sometimes to support what I need energetically that day. Each one is precious, each one vibrates with its own frequency.

My journey through healing chronic Lyme and arthritis deepened my devotion to natural medicine. I believe in the wisdom of both Eastern and Western approaches, but I’ve truly found joy in herbal teas, intuitive healing, and clean, nurturing skincare — caring for the body, mind, and spirit as one.

The Hidden Portal is a reflection of my lineage and my heart. I come from a long line of magical women — mediums, healers, seers — and this space is an offering of that energy.

I guess you could say I was raised on the thrilled of the hunt. From a young age, I watched my mom breathe life into forgotten things from vintage dishes to item filled with soul. Over time, that love passed to me. I began collecting pieces that spoke not just to style, but to spirit, clothing with a story, crystals with a pulse, and herbal remedies rooted in wisdom.

The Hidden Portal is a reflection of that journey a gathering of timeless treasures, sacred tools, and soul-led offerings for seekers, dreamers, and wild hearts. It’s not just a shop; it’s a return to the magic we often forget… but never truly lose.

My mom’s been thrifting since before I was born. Over the years, her love for unique pieces deepened, she began collecting discontinued dishware and unique vintage furniture, experimenting with different styles. Every home she redecorated, from relaxed beach homes to rustic barn houses, was thoughtfully curated with care and intention. She’s always done it for the joy of the hunt, it’s always been about the thrill of the find and the love of creating beauty.

All the countless hours of Driving and waiting in the truck has payed off — it was part of the magic. I will say he has really gotten into rocks lately and gained a lot of knowledge. Thanks Dad!
